…. “I can only say she was a pleasant woman who generously helped me when I was in need. But discovering she was pursuing a sexual relationship with that deceptive piece of repulsive shit seriously turned my stomach. How could any honest person develop love for a character like him?” I looked directly at Goldstein. “I met him at U of T. We even shared a campus townhouse facility. One day he casually walked into my room, stared out my bedroom window, and unemotionally informed me his older brother had just committed suicide in South America. His father had to pick up his boy’s body.” I frowned. “I found it so odd that he didn’t cry or become visually upset when talking about his brother’s sudden death. Absolutely nothing.” Another thought flashed in my mind. “Many years later, while I was living in his own townhouse—he probably never told her that I planned to buy half the house—he stormed up the front stairs and shouted at me, ‘I was in the change room and this guy actually called me a disgusting faggot.’ I found it funny at the time that an ignorant shmuck like him could be offended by someone calling him a disgusting faggot but not shed a single tear for his brother. Sometimes, Goldstein, an abortion is not a grievous act.”

        “I think you’re being overly harsh.”

         I shrugged my shoulders. “Observing the experiences of my life, and given all of the humiliating humiliations so attached, I wish – prayed really – I was never born.” A few seconds passed. “And why would I say that about him? Simple. During and after my three brain surgeries, and at my weakest emotional point, that person ….” ….
